New best buy -
Johnson's Bedtime Lotion. I have to admit I was skeptical at first, but I'm telling you it really does work. We've made it part of our night time routine and our girls have gone to sleep easier and slept longer.
And since they are sleeping longer they are waking up in better moods. Everyone needs this one!!!
A Twins Life
Meet my girls Madelyn and Isabelle. They are the loves of our lives, but what a wild ride when you have two!

So, I am holding Madelyn and she is being all loving and hugging me. Suddenly I feel something warm and at first am thinking that she's just cuddling. Then I realize that she's actually peed all down the front of me on my shift and pants.
Turns out one of her "adopted" grandmothers (friends of the family) changed her and forgot to turn the folded edges of her disposable diapers out before putting them on. The pee ran out like it was a little fire hose...
You know driving home in a cold pee shirt and pants is not really all that it's chalked up to be!

Formula
Did you know that the Walmart brand Peoples Choice Advanced baby food is the same as Similac? They also carry one like Enfamil as well.
The good news...you get twice as much for half the price. My OB told me about it and we have been giving it to our girls. They are growing exceptionally well and not having any trouble with it at all.
Also, if you log onto their website and request a sample they will then send you coupons in the mail worth $9.00 off any size of formula. Now, that is a great deal!

We had a good night last night, the new sleep routine seems to be working. But, we are still having a hard time getting them to eat solid food.
I make my own and they seem to like a bite or two but them are done and will start fussing. I can tell they want it as they watch us eat and move forward when you present them with the spoon.
At this point I think it's a textural thing. Any ideas?

Poopy diapers...something we all have in common! I just can't believe how much they actually have. This was a forget the wipes and let's rinse her off in the shower and bathe type of day...
Isn't it funny how as Mom's we are so far removed of how we were prior to kids. Now I routinely have slobber on my shoulders, milk on my clothes and I get peed on regularly. But, would we have it any other way? I think not.
Of course I can remember prior to having these two that I would have never walked around like that, maybe I even commented on the mother who looked ran down and all a mess. Surprise...now that IS ME!
I'm sure we all have some of those funny, or maybe not so funny stories, just join in....

Does anyone else process their own baby food? How successful have you been at getting them to eat it? We really don't want to use the pre-packaged food but our girls seem a bit picky. I'm guessing it's due to the fact they have been drinking milk only and the new foods are highly flavorful.
Any ideas?

In my last post I included a few photos of the girls in the early months. In this post I will include a few photos of them just after they were born. Very tiny, but healthy - so we were blessed!
We finally bought the mechanical swings for the girls. How did we EVER go without them? They are AMAZING and the girls love them! So worth any amount of money.
Other than that, they are both rolling over now and that has been it's own adventure. In fact last night Isabelle kept rolling over onto her tummy and would wake up every half hour or so screaming because she hates being on her tummy. Go figure! Not sure how to handle this one.
We are still trying to get them on a regular sleep schedule, which was going well until Daylight Savings. Daft! Isabelle will sleep through most of the night, but Madelyn still wakes up at 12 - 1 and wants food. Guessing they are going through another growth spurt as they are both drinking about 11-12 oz of formula in 4 hours. Ugh!
Would love to know how others are tackling getting your kids to sleep through the night???

Welcome to my world! We found out we were having twins during our 7 week ultrasound. Then, we found out we were having identicals during our 10 week ultrasound.
From there, it was a BUMPY ride to make it to 36 weeks. Lots of medical issues and months of bedrest made for a fun (well not so fun) summer!
But in the end we have our beautiful girls!
Fast forward to today and life has been quite a ride. They were born quite small (Isabelle at 4 pounds 11 oz. and Madelyn at 3 pounds 13 oz.) but where healthy and quite the fighters. After only a day in the NICU they came to my room and then we all went home after 3 days total in the hospital.
The first few months of course they slept a lot and we, as parents, got little sleep between the worrying and the feeding every 3 hours. But, it's been amazing to watch them grow; quite literally by the day...I am constantly amazed how they change each and every day!
The ups and downs have made this an exciting ride, but I wouldn't change a thing.
Well, enough about us for now. The reason of this blog is to get other twin and/or multiple mothers together to share our experiences and words of wisdom. So, sit back enjoy the ride and jump in any time!
